Obituary for Carlos Miguel del Castillo

Carlos Miguel del Castillo, 23, of Lambertville, NJ, died tragically on August 22, 2015, in Lambertville, NJ. Born on June 25, 1992, in Ewing, NJ, Carlos is survived by his mother, Tina del Castillo, his father, Juan C. del Castillo, and his sister, Mariel del Castillo, his maternal grandmother, Kathleen Stola, and his paternal grandparents, Dr. Julio and Gladys del Castillo. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, intentional families and countless friends. In his youth he was an avid bicyclist, bass player, and enjoyed being active and outdoors. He had an enormous love for animals, especially dogs. Carlos graduated from Hopewell Valley Central High School in 2011. In school, he played competitive basketball and was a star football player. He broke records there as a power lifter. He was a founding member and executive board member of S.M.A.C. (student movement against cancer) Carlos was an Army Reservist assigned to the 404th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne). He held the rank of Specialist 4, and was a graduate of the US Army Civil Affairs Qualification Course, Ft Bragg, NC. His awards are the Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Achievement Medal. He was most recently employed by Niece Lumber in Lambertville, NJ. Carlos loved various kinds of music and was an avid supporter of live music. His musical tastes were as varied as his many talents. He will be remembered by many for his endless energy, fun spirit, inspirational work ethic and his determination to excel in every way possible. A son, grandson, brother, nephew and friend to many, he would want us to be strong, do our best, and be happy. You may send condolences directly to the family or to Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 N.
