Deacon James W Palsir

Deacon James Walter Palsir, of Washington Crossing , PA, entered eternal life on July 8, 2016. He was born on March 30, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA, the younger of two children born to Virginia and J. Walter Palsir. Jim attended Northeast Catholic High School in Philadelphia, earned a BS in economics from Villanova University in 1961 and a MA in business education from Rider University in 2000. James married Marie Jones on May 23, 1964, and they were married for 52 years. The parents of two daughters, Susan Palsir Huber and Amy Christine Lukas, they lived and raised their family in Philadelphia and Lawrenceville, NJ. Jim is survived by his beautiful wife; daughters and sons-in-law, Robert Huber and Darius Lukas; six grandchildren, Catherine Whitney Huber, Robert Austin Huber, Darius James Lukas, AnneMarie Palsir Huber, Colin Andrew Lukas, and Alexander Paul Lukas; his sister, Patricia (Charles) Buckman; two nieces, Ellen Daub Platt and Susan Daub-Longo; as well as sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Ray Jones and Rita and Tom Conroy, and many great-nieces and nephews also survived him. Jim faithfully served the community of St. James in Pennington, NJ, for over 30 years as a permanent deacon, Religious Education Director and CRASH Club youth leader. He lived life deeply and enjoyed, among other things, his many years at IBM; Villanova, and Philadelphia sport teams; any place in the sun; Frank Sinatra, and a good martini. Please join the Palsir family at St. James Catholic Church, 115 E. Delaware Ave., for a viewing on Tuesday, July 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 13, from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of the Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Burial will take place at the Pennington Cemetery. With full hearts and thankful prayers, the Palsir family thanks the doctors, nurses, therapists, and aides who cared for Jim with compassion and hope during his battle with Alzheimer's disease.
