Philip V Lopresti

September 27, 1932 — July 15, 2016

Philip V. Lopresti, 83, died at home on Friday, July 15th, 2016. A 46-year resident of Pennington, he was born in Johnstown, PA.

Phil received his Bachelors of Science degree and Masters of Science degree from The University of Notre Dame, and his PhD in electrical engineering from Purdue University. He had an active career life, working as a Consulting Member of the Technical Research Staff for over 25 years at the AT&T Engineering Research Center located in Princeton NJ. After retiring from AT&T, he worked as an Adjunct Professor at The University of Pennsylvania for over 15 years.

Additionally, Phil was a Consulting Editor for McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology; a Co-Founder of DFT Microsystems; and a faculty member at Northwestern University and Illinois Institute of Technology earlier in his career. He served as a 1st Lieutenant for the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD and Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Phil was an international leader in the area of analog/digital circuit design, and received numerous technical awards for his contributions to the field. He was an active member of IEEE, an avid Ham radio operator, played the piano, and enjoyed traveling Europe, especially Italy. Additionally he coached his sons' Little League teams. He was a long-time member of St James Parish in Pennington.

Predeceased by his parents, Philip Lopresti Sr. and Lucy (Angelo) Lopresti, Phil is survived by his loving family: his wife of 57 years, Patricia (Litzinger); sons Daniel (Debbie) and David; daughter Amy Haftkowycz (Mark); grandchildren Oliver (Amanda), Courtney (Callie), and Timothy; great-granddaughter Deidre; siblings Joanne, John, James, and Mary Lou; and his aunt Jelorma DeMario.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Gathering Area of St. James Catholic Church, 115 East Delaware Ave, Pennington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Wednesday, July 20th at St. James.

Interment will follow at Harbourton Cemetery in Hopewell Township.
