Rev. James H. Biggs, 77, of Island Heights, NJ passed away May 30, 2019.
A graduate of Millville NJ High School, Asbury College, and Eastern Theological Seminary, he was a United Methodist minister over 50 years, serving pastorates for 26 years.
Jim was a government relationship officer and lobbyist in banking for 15 years. He served as a trustee and teacher at The Pennington School, member and past president of Trenton Rotary, Mercer County Planning Board 18 years, NJ ESGR, NJ Pension Board, NJ Business & Industry, Trenton Club and supporter of Mercer Street Friends, United Cerebral Palsy, Boy Scouts, and other community agencies.
A former mayor of Island Heights, he was member of Ocean County Mayors Assoc., League of Municipalities, member and past president of Island Heights Fire Company, Island Heights Board of Education, treasurer of Island Heights Sailing Foundation, 1978 candidate for Congress and a current member of Toms River Rotary and OB luncheon group.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 55 yeas, Kathleen, son Randall and wife Stacy, daughter Lisa Maresca, and four adored grandsons, Ryan Murphy, Conor Murphy, Harrison Biggs, and Daniel Maresca, and many close and dear friends.
