Donald James Barringer, 58, passed away on June 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Donald Frederic and Ruth Dempsey Barringer. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, daughter Colleen (Brian Mulleavey), son Donald, sisters Kathie Seaman (Tom), Linda Ridgley (Wes) and brother Frederic Barringer (Tamara). Don also leaves behind an aunt and uncle and many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Don was a graduate of Lawrence High School where he played football and was on the track team. He was also a proud Eagle Scout and adhered to the twelve points of the Scout Law throughout his life.
He continued his education at the New England Institute of Technology, where he studied carpentry and cabinetmaking. Don was employed by the Princeton Theological Seminary as a carpenter for nearly 30 years.
He was an exceptional craftsman who added three bedrooms and a bathroom to his family's home "in his spare time". He also enjoyed working in the garden and on classic cars; his most recent acquisition was a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am.
Don was a friend to all, deeply loved, will be greatly missed and forever remembered. He leaves behind a legacy of love, in fact, as he neared the end of his life, he encouraged his loved ones to take care of each other and to "do it for love".
A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 am on July 16th in the Princeton Theological Seminary Chapel, 64 Mercer Street, Princeton NJ.
