Ellen Kraus Osborn, 47, of Pine Beach, died on Thursday, August 13, after a short battle with brain cancer. Ellen was born in Princeton, grew up in Pennington, but spent the last 13 years living with her loving husband of l5 years, Richard Osborn, and her adoring sons, Carter and Charles in Pine Beach. Ellen's passion for life was centered on her unwavering love and devotion for her family, friends and students. When not teaching, she would be found at many of her children's activities, helping out however she could. Although Ellen initially pursued a career in Fashion Merchandising after graduating from Hopewell Valley Regional High School and Philadelphia College of Textile and Science(now Philadelphia University), she spent her last 14 years as a teacher at Millstone Township Middle School where she taught, mentored and guided thousands of students. Ellen often led by example. Not one to take the spotlight, her actions were always kind and noble, most notably, but not limited to her donation of a kidney in a multi donor/recipient swap so her husband could receive a much needed, successful kidney transplant. As a child, Ellen loved to dance, sing, perform music, and participate in sports where she collected many of her lifelong friends. Her love of music carried on as she was the assistant chorus director at the Millstone Township Middle School. A benefit concert has been planned in her memory. In addition to her husband and children, Ellen is survived by her mother, Linda Berry Kraus of Pennington and a brother, Trey Kraus of Rehoboth Beach, DE. Her father Leonard F. Kraus, Jr. preceded her in death.
