Pennington. Eugene G. Seems, 89, died in St. Francis Medical Center on Thursday. Born in Torrington, Conn., he had been a resident of Pennington for 56 years. He was a graduate of the University of Connecticut, achieved a law degree from Boston College, and became a member of the American Bar Association. He became Director of patents and licensing for FMC and retired in 1990. He was President of the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an active member of St. James Church and was involved in many of the activities there. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Hopewell Valley Golf Club for 56 years. He was also a former member of the Pennington Lions Club. Husband of the late Lydia Seems and father of the late George Seems and grandfather of the late Lee FitzPatrick, he is survived by his son, David Seems and his wife Edna of Pennington and his daughter Jane FitzPatrick and her husband Pearse of Charleston, SC and five grandchildren, Andrew Seems, Amy and Christie FitzPatrick, Matthew Seems and Stephanie Rubenstein as well as a great granddaughter, Kaitlyn FitzPatrick. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. James Chapel, Eglantine Ave., Pennington. Interment will be in Harbourton Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 N. Main St., Pennington.
