Frederick Fenton Stiff IV

Frederick Fenton Stiff IV of New Hope, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly on June 26, 2026, at Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell, NJ, at the age of 61, after pneumonia quickly progressed to blood sepsis.

He is survived by his wife, Eliane Talec, his companion of 32 years, whom he loved deeply. They were classmates at the Hun School of Princeton, and after several chance encounters after college, they realized fate was bringing them together. They were married on a gorgeous day in the Caribbean.

An avid autosport enthusiast, he never missed a Formula One Grand Prix's practice, qualifying or race. He played football, ice hockey, lacrosse and raced dirt bikes and sports cars, including Formula Fords. He always said he had "the need for speed"! He worked in IndyCar and vintage racing for several years with Walker Racing, the Porsche IndyCar team and Autosport Racing. Later in his career, he moved into executive roles in sales operations in the medical device industry with companies including Amersham, Bracco, Terumo, and Piramal, and then transitioned to consulting.

Fred was a graduate of the Hun School of Princeton, Bethany College and both the Bondurant Racing School and Skip Barber School of Racing. He enjoyed traveling, music, the ocean, and going to concerts-he attended many -although his favorite musicians were Led Zeppelin and Mozart.

Predeceased by his father, Frederick Fenton Stiff III, he is survived by his mother, Deanne Stiff, of Durango, CO; his brother, Eric, also of Durango; and his sisters, Lee Ann and Kristin Stiff, of Mancos, CO; and his brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Heather Talec, of Iron Station, NC.

There will be a private memorial service to honor Fred's life.

He loved his country, was a true patriot, and had been very much looking forward to celebrating the USA's 250th birthday. Donations in his honor can be made to Tunnel to Towers at https://t2t.org/.
