Joseph G. Oese, Jr. passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026. He left this world the same way he lived in it - wrapped in Love.
Joseph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and a friend to many. He proudly served his community as a police officer in the Belleville Police Department, where he rose through the ranks and retired as a Captain after a long and distinguished career. His law enforcement career was carried out with integrity and compassion; characteristics that defined his life.
Earlier in his life, Joseph honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 through 1963, and he remained deeply proud of his service and his country throughout his life.
Away from duty, Joseph found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially bowling and following the New York Yankees of which he was a lifelong fan.
Above all, Joseph cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa; his daughter, Tanya; his son, Christopher; and his treasured grandchildren; Taylor, Tori, and Noel; a great granddaughter, Storm; and his brother, Charles; all who brought him endless pride and happiness. His love for them was steady, constant, and unconditional.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph Sr., and Lorraine; brothers, James, Thomas, and Kevin; and his cherished grandson, Nicholas.
Joseph's strength, loyalty, and warmth touched everyone who knew him, and he will be sorely missed.
