Ruth Frances Pierson

Ruth Frances Dunne Pierson passed away peacefully at Morris Hall Meadows on April 19, 2019. She was 99 years old.
Ruth grew up in Watertown, NY and graduated from Rider College where she met her husband, John. She worked for the Medical Society of NJ until she and John started a family. While she was at home raising children, Ruth volunteered at the school library, PTA, Crusaders and Girl Scouts. After her children were older she went back to work as a secretary at Mercer Mutual Insurance Company, staying for 20 years. Ruth volunteered at Pennington Library for several years after she retired. She loved reading and playing bridge, but she loved her family most of all and was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ruth was predeceased by her brother, John, her sister, Mary, and her husband John Atchley Pierson. She is survived by her children John (Patricia), Frances (Larry), Kristin, Jane (Ron), Mary (Richard) and Martha (Tim). Ruth had 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, April 24, from 6 – 8 PM at Blackwell Memorial Home, Pennington, NJ. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
