William Curlis Hart, age 93, died on July 20, 2026 at home. Born in Hopewell Township, Bill was the son of W. Curlis and Ellen E. Hart. He was a graduate of Hopewell Valley Regional Schools and Rider University in Lawrenceville. He was the President and CEO of Mercer Insurance Group in Pennington having retired in 2000 and in 2010 from their Board of Directors. During his accounting, banking and insurance careers, he had served as President of the Mercer County Savings League, Board of Governors Member of the New Jersey Savings League, and President of the New Jersey Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. He was an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Titusville.
Predeceased by his parents and wife of 68 years, Evelyn Wagner Hart, Bill is survived by his daughter, Diane Zalaskus and husband, Gregory of Raritan Township; his son Glenn Hart and wife, Melissa of Hopewell Township; his grandchildren Julie Zalaskus, Jeffrey Zalaskus, Elizabeth Herr and husband, Garrett, Emily LaPlaca and husband Joseph; his great-grandchildren Desiree Petonak and Elliott and Anna Herr; and his sister-in-law Judy Wagner.
Arrangements are under the direction of Blackwell Memorial Home, Pennington. A funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Titusville at 11:00 am on Friday, July 24, 2026. Visitation will be held at 10:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
